Carla Jean Pease Warnock is a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church assigned as nurse/coordinator of Global Ministries' Missionary Health Ministry Wellness Program. The Wellness Program provides assistance with and coordination of medical, emotional and spiritual care for the agency' s mission personnel.
Prior to this assignment, Carla and husband, Ted, also a missionary, served as coordinators of the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) program in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
"As the Wellness nurse/coordinator I am privileged to care for the awesome people who serve as United Methodist missionaries around the world," Carla says of her call to service. "Having been molded by the Great Potter, I am able to use my education and experiences in nursing, healthcare administration, in community and international mission, and in life to provide occupational and faith community nursing and nurture to our missionaries. I am privileged to be a missionary to our missionaries."
Carla holds a diploma in Nursing from the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing, Sayre, Pennsylvania. As a nurse, she has worked in diverse settings, including community health, intensive care, emergency department, and outpatient settings. While she and Ted were raising their two young daughters, Carla began course work that led to a BSPA/Healthcare Administration and then a master' s degree in Public Administration. In 2009, she earned a Master of Science in Nursing/Parish Nursing. In addition to nursing, Carla serves as a healthcare instructor for the American Red Cross and has worked in several healthcare management positions.
